Final Blog Reflection

Characters Post
    I believe that I did a pretty good job at explaining how a complex character changed over a course of text. " A complex character that changes during my novel is the main character. First, he was very strict and precise. Now he has calmed down and is now very peaceful. I believe this change happened because the zombie apocalypse was a total shock but now it is more natural (Barnett)" This qoute shows that I did a good job on explaining how a complex character changed because I gave what happened at the begginning. Then I explained how he changed. I also gave my inference of to why this occured.

    One struggle that I had during my Blogging career was that for some topics if you were not far in your book they were hard to answer. Since I am a slow reader it was hard for me to answer some of those harder questions. I overcame this by thinking really hard and digging deep into what I already know. One of my strengths was that when I did answer the topic I gave strong textual evidence and good reasoning.

Steelers Post
The Steelers have won their first game this season. On October 13th the Steelers beat the New York Jets. They won 19-6 over the Jets. So far they are not doing so well. But I still have faith that they will win 6 games this season. I also hope that they will make the Wild Card. Elijah and I believe that they are amazing. GET PUMPED!!

Analysis Post World War Z
In my book World War Z the text says" I found "Patient Zero" behind the locked door of an abandoned house across town" Some other quotes that support and describe who patient zero is " But the boy jerked again and I heard his left arm snap." This describes patient zero because it shows that he is infected with whatever the disease is. He is also very weak. Some inferences that I have drawn from the text are that he is the very first zombie and he will infect the rest of the world with just one bite.

Tone and Mood World War Z
The tone of my novel is mad and brave. I believe this because he is mad that this started but he is brave because he will fight them in order to save his family. The moos of my novel is confused. I believe this because he is probably confused because of this sudden outbreak. My character swayed the beliefs of others when his servants did not want to experiment on the zombie but he said to in a really firm voice and got them to do it. Since he said it in a firm voice i believe that, that was able to persuade them.

Characters Post World War Z 
A complex character that changes during my novel is the doctor. First he was very strict and precise. Now he has calmed down and now is very peaceful. I believe this change happened because the zombie apocalypse was a total shock at first but now it has sunken in and is now more natural. He is very strict and sometimes even mean with the other characters. But I think that only happened because of the shock of the zombie war. This helps propel the plot because first he was all about what just happened. Now he has accepted that and now tries to save his family.

Steelers Post
Another lose for the Steelers this season. I can't believe it. They have won 6 superbowls and can't even get a win yet. I am totally giving up on them this season. Unless they pull out some magic and start doing good. But then yet again they do have 13 injuries. They will always be my favorite team but sometimes they have to do bad.

The Steelers Season
So far the Steelers have been off to a bad start. They have lost their first three games this season. With thirteen injuries so far there is not much you can do. This quote describes how their team has to perform in order to win, "We just have to go out there and perform and trust in each other to get  the job done"-Marcus Gilbert. I believe that the Steelers will only win 4 games this season. I believe this because they have 13 injuries already, and have already lost 3 games. I definitely do not believe that this is a super bowl team. 

Book Recommendations Post World War Z
The book that I am recommending is the book World War Z. I would give this book a 9.5 out of 10 stars up until my point in the book. I think that this book is really good because it has lots of details and will keep you on the edge of your chair just wanting to read more. In my book so far there has already been action. Also I am still reading to see what happens to the world. Also in this book there is a mix of genres. There is mystery involved because they have to find what happened to the world and how it all started. Action is also involved because there is a lot of zombie killing and running.

The Anything Post
   I think that my book will be about never giving up with what ever comes your way. I am 20 pages in and there is already action and suspense. The theme is already pretty much in the first chapter. For some predictions I think that this boy will infect everybody in the town and then the whole world. I also think that this doctor will only try to save his family and try to keep them alive.

World War Z Reading Skills Post
     I believe that in my book most of the world will be infected by this one little boy. I also believe that towards the end of the book they will find an abandon island that has never been infected and they will stay there till it ends then rebuild the world. I always wanted to ask this to the author but i can't so here it is... I would like to know how this infection all started and how it will be spread? I would also like to ask how they will survive this and be able to defend themselves. This infection kind of reminds me of how the Swine-flu was passed around and how many people were infected. For text to text connections this reminds me of when the show The Walking Dead was on and how they survived. For text to self connection it made me think of a game we used to play when I was a young kid. This game was called Sardines. You had to hide and if the seeker caught you, you became it(infected) and you had to help the other person find the rest of the people.

World War Z Setting
  So far I am about one chapter into my book and i am already hooked. It seems to me that this setting is going to be in a small town called New Dachang. It is a small down by the Three Gorges Dam. So far there is only one infected little boy. There was about 50 people in the building where they hid from the infected boy. This quote that I am about to share will describe the setting in which the main character is,"Their former home, "Old Dachang," had stood since the period of the Three Kingdoms, with farms and houses and even trees said to be centuries old. When the Three Gorges Dam was completed, and reservoir waters began to rise, much of Dachang had been disassembled, brick by brick, then rebuilt on higher ground"(Brooks 4-5). This quote shows that this town was old and ruined until they built it on higher ground.

 The theme of my book is to never give up on your dreams even if you think you are going to fail. This theme shows up in my book a lot. When Christopher  tries to meet his mom in London, England he thought about giving up but he kept with his dreams and strived to meet them. And then he took out his walkie-talkie and pressed a button and said, “Rob…? Yeah, it’s Nigel. I’m stuck on the bloody train. Yeah. Don’t even… Look. It stops at Didcot Parkway. So, if you can get someone to meet me with a car… Cheers. Tell his old man we've got him but it’s going to take a while, OK? Great.”

         And then he clicked his walkie-talkie off and he said, “Let’s get ourselves a seat,” and he pointed to two long seats nearby which faced each other, and he said, “Park yourself. And no monkey business.” (Chapter 197

Haddon) This shows that a policeman stood in his way of seeing his mother. That did not matter to Christopher. He kept on with his dreams. This theme emerges from the beginning of the book when his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, was killed and he wants to find out who did it. Christopher Boone is a very smart kid who does A level Math. He finds out his neighbor’s dog, Wellington died. He wanted to figure out who did it. After his dad told him not to do it he still did. After finding his investigation book he also found some letters his mom wrote to him from London.(His dad told him his Mother died of natural cause.) He then left his dad to go see his mom in London with a lot of problems along the way. When he reached his mom’s house he felt like home. After a couple of days of listening to his dad come to London and yell at him he decided to go back to Swindon with his mom and live with both of them. He continued to do his A level Math’s and he gained trust back in his dad.
